Bainbridge Striders
Striders is a very loosely organized group of walkers who are committed to maintaining a healthy life style while enjoying this beautiful island we live on.
We meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at 8:30 a.m. Our walks start at different places on the island, are usually 3-5 miles long, take about an hour, and are occasionally followed by a stop for coffee. During the summer months there may be forays off the island to find other places to walk – and to have coffee.
We are a diverse group of men & women. Despite (or perhaps because of) having no committees, meetings, dues or membership rosters, we enjoy good conversation as we walk. Most of us are retired, but involved in volunteer work or pursuing some passionate interest.
We always welcome new walkers, and can accommodate different walking speeds. If you think our group would fit your life style, feel free to just show up at one of our walks. If you have any further questions, the contact person for more information is Ginger Thrash at thrash2@comcast.net.
