How are entries selected for listing in the Bainbridge Island Resource Directory?

The consortium of organizations that manage the website determines policies for inclusion.

• All Health and Human Services available to people of all ages on the Island, including mental health and substance abuse services
• Publicly funded services available to Bainbridge citizens
• Public transportation services and options available to Bainbridge citizens
• Commercial, insured, licensed companies offering day care, day camps, caregiving and care management options
• Commercial, insured Health companies or departments offering specialized services for Bainbridge citizens such as Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy, Foot Care
• Links to other website directories, such as Psychotherapy Guild, 2-1-1, etc.*
• Volunteer opportunities available in the community.

*At this time, individual practitioners or independent contractors will not be included in the database.  The System will not include Hospitals or Specialties within Hospitals, as this information is readily available through other directories and by physician referral.

How do I search the Bainbridge Island Resource Directory for the resource I need?

• To limit your search to Senior Resources, click on Senior Resources at the top of the page. Click on a category or sub-category, or use the search box in the middle of the page.
• To limit your search to Youth and Family, click on Youth and Family at the top of the page. Click on a category or sub-category, or use the search box in the middle of the page.
• To search the entire database, click on A-Z List at the top of the page. Alternately, use a search box found on the left or right side of a page.
• To search for a phrase, use quotation marks around the phrase. Results for “home care” will differ from the results for home care.

How can I submit information on an addition or suggest corrections to the directory? 

If you want to suggest a resource that serves the community of Bainbridge Island, please email us at bird@biseniorcenter.org. Your submission will be reviewed, and you will receive an email confirmation we have posted your suggestion, a request for more information,  or an explanation of why the resource cannot be added.

How can I print a list of resources under a category?

After you have conducted your search for resources within a category and see a list of resources on your screen, go to your browser’s File menu and select Print.  That should provide a preview of the list that will be printed once you select print.
